Worship Arts
"He makes the whole body fit together perfectly.
As each part does its own special work,
it helps the other parts grow,
so that the whole body is healthy and growing
and full of love."
Ephesians 4:16
Each Sunday morning at Christ Community Covenant Church, we gather to worship God, to praise and honor Him and to receive direction from His words. We design our worship services so that they're God-centered, Spirit-led, bold in truth and Kingdom centered.
Some might ask, "Why? Why can't I just worship God on my own, wherever I am?" Here's why we believe that corporate worship is important: "We worship to remind each other who we are and to whom we belong. We worship to remind ourselves it is not all about us - it is about God. It is about God's kingdom of justice, peace, and righteousness. because in [God's] presence, all that is temporary melts away.We need God. We need our sisters and our brothers. In worship we see a little more of the glory God has for us. We see a little more of ourselves in Christ. We see God." John E. Phelan, Jr., President and Dean of North Park Theological Seminary
Service Opportunities
On Sunday mornings, there are many ways we honor and glorify God together: a message is prepared, music is selected, visual arts are created, and the band, sound and media technicians rehearse. The coffee is made, greeters and ushers welcome, volunteers answer our questions, prayer teams are gathered and everyone together sings and prays to God our Father.
Consider how you might like to contribute so that you will grow in your love for God and His people. Let us know how we can get you involved in Worship Arts Ministries by exploring your interests below. Anyone high school age and older is welcome to serve.
- Higher Grounds Coffee Ministry - Higher Grounds offers an assortment of coffees, teas, and pastries served and prepared by friendly volunteers.
- Worship Team - The worship team is comprised of talented individuals who worship through music and fine arts. Auditions are required for instrumentalists and vocalists, and includes an informal interview. The Worship Choir is a less formal expression and any who enjoy singing (on key!) are welcome.
- Ushers - Ushers are friendly volunteers who help in a simple, but important way to facilitate our woship services with minimal training.
- Greeters/Ambassadors - If you enjoy meeting people and making them feel welcome, then this is a role for you! As a "first-point-of-contact" for 4Cs, you are an invaluable part of an attendee's experience.
- Guest Information -- We feel it's important to provide our guests and attendees with information that might not be included in our weekly bulletin or e-mails. The folks who represent 4Cs at our guest information booth are friendly and 'in-the-know.' They also sell grocery scrip as a service to our youth program.
- Communion Servers - A very meaningful way to minister during our worship services is to serve the communion elements during the Lord's supper, which usually takes place the first Sunday of each month. You can serve with a spouse or a friend, and it is preferred that you are a baptized follower of Jesus Christ as you attend 4Cs.
- Media - Calling all "tech-ies!" We are so grateful for the folks that employ a focused approach for computer/projector operations during a worship service by running Media Shout or other programs for songs and sermon content . This can also include video preparation and editing.
- Sound - The role of operating the soundboard during worship services at 4Cs usually requires some previous experience, musical background, and a willingness to be mentored in the process. We are grateful for those willing to share their skills in this manner.
- Dance and Drama - These artistic expressions are encouraged at 4Cs and continue to be developed as they enhance the "story" of music and message.
